Visual DataFlex's usability enhancements are designed to make the entire Visual DataFlex environment more intuitive, more efficient, more automatic and easier to learn.  Usability enhancements are intended to benefit new as well as experienced Visual DataFlex developers venturing into new areas of technology or implementation. Usability enhancements include:

• Workflow optimization - the entire Studio environment has been carefully reviewed and improved to make the process of application building more logical and intuitive, more automated and more extensive in what it does to support developers.
• Studio automates the process of creating publishable web services to run on Web Application Server.
• Studio provides new facilities to automate the connection and integration of published web services into new or existing Windows, web or web service applications.
• New Wizards
  • A new wizard to generate Windows desktop views, including a WYSIWYG preview. This new wizard can create simple database forms or complex, "header/item" views including views with tabbed pages. 
  • A new, easy-to-use WinPrint2 Wizard that adds more extensive capabilities.
• Improved documentation

  • New documentation on Using and Publishing Web Services

• New Sample Applications
  • A new example application workspace has been added to illustrate various uses of Web Services in Windows client applications. The sample views use various Web Services hosted by different providers, including the Visual DataFlex Web Application Server.
  • An order entry example workspace (Order10) now includes a full compliment of interfaces (Web Service, Web Browser and Windows Desktop) to the same application environment.
